RE: Say what Tom?

I am one of the very few who had (and having) a chance to try (and live with) the Danley SH 50, 100B and SH 100 in my home. At the moment I am using the SH 100B and like it so much, that I sold my Avantgarde Trio after using it for 8 years. The SH 50 has a coherency and dynamics like the real music ( I am using them for live events as well) even in my roughly 40 sqm room. It was definitely the easiest speaker to position in my room, I just need an Ikea table to get them in a higher than usual position. After trying the SH 50 first there was no way to go back to the Avantgarde. I even liked the SH 100B a bit better and my wife tolerate it more as well than the SH 50. The sH 50 is the better speaker technically speaking, but the size of the SH 100B is more manageable. The SH 100B was put in exactly the same position as the SH 50, it was working so well, I was not interested in to try it in a different position. It has a bit less coherency than the SH 50, but a bit more bandwidth, mainly at the low end, and I am not saying the SH 50 was bass shy on any way. The SH 100B is a bit more tolerant and shows a bit less pain when my children listen modern pop music :-) I even had a chance to build a home theatre system with two SH 50s, 3 SH 100s and to TH 112 subs for an experiment. You just cannot imagine it :-)

So I am not here to judge who is right. I am a happy user of the Danley speakers, I respect the innovations of Tom Danley a lot. Their speakers really speak music, does not matter if you want to use them for PA or for home.

(I am almost ready with a longer post about my life and experience in the last 3 months with all sorts of Danley speakers in my home and in my professional life as well.)
