"Sensory threshold" effect eh?

But look at Gordon Rankin's response - 82% people picked the WAV file! That's gotta be almost freakin' obvious if the subjects are the average tradeshow crowd.

That ain't difference at the "sensory threshold"! If his tests are to be believed, then he either has super ninja resolving hardware OR his methodology is faulty and introducing something making the FLAC's sound bad.

The fact that we're still talking about this after all these years (I see FLAC was introduced in 2001) indicates to me that there *most likely is no difference* and the folks who swear by it did something wrong or had poor FLAC decoding hardware at one time which has since become "truth" to them.
