Whatever works for bit-perfect ripping...

Although I prefer the Windows OS for most of my audio ripping (plenty of excellent tools like dbPowerAmp and EAC), when I occasionally rip with the Mac, I reach for XLD and see if the rip is correct with AccurateRip.

So long as there's no errors, it's all good. Don't fool with any resampling, and definitely keep it as 16-bits for CD!
