IT'S OKAY TO NOT HEAR A DIFFERENCE :-)

Presto:
Appreciate the response.

I see your side of the argument and would not fault anyone for making a choice for themselves; I really don't care how much one intends to spend on a cable and certainly the idea of value is up to the individual.

I do have one concern however - that being humans, there are folks out there just out to make a buck. We all know that human psychology is easily swayed and in a business where potentially an unscrupulous manufacturer can make a killing on something based on hype, I just think it's important for some of us to take a stand.

As I noted in my original message, I just wanted to put out there especially to newbies that I for one, who has been playing with this stuff for years, fooling with stuff like high res music to this day (ie. SACD rips, DVD-A rips, HDTracks downloads...) have NOT heard any significant difference in USB cables.

I encourage everyone to test it out for themselves. But if at the end of the journey, you cannot convince yourself of a difference, then no, I don't believe you're crazy and no, I don't believe it's because you have a 'tin' (vs. golden) ear :-). IMO it's completely acceptable to stay with a $25 USB cable linked up to your $2000 DAC.

... As long as you love the music...
