RE: well...

I've been shopping for a laptop and hoped this might be the answer. It has some interesting ideas- like the EMI shielding- but it seems it does nothing that one couldn't do by handling an ordinary laptop carefully, trying "streamlining" options in accordance with advice gleaned from this Asylum.

As you pointed out to nme before, the contribution to the "sound" of the laptop is all about jitter and these modifications address jitter only tangentially, as far as I understand the matter. And cryogenic treatment? That's a load of hooey.

The Atom is a rather rudimentary processor and IIRC, it will not run Win7 Pro 64 bit which is nice if you wanted to set up remote control. You'd feel the well-known audiophile's heartache to pay over $1000 US for a Dell Mini (the non-custom version of which sells new for somewhere around $500) and dumped it for $200 on Craigslist in a couple years.
