RE: End of Days for USB audio?

I recall when Ted Smith was posting on AA and working on a prototype of what eventually became the PS Audio Direct Stream DAC he mentioned that different flip flops sounded different. It's not surprising that different flip flops sound different, especially if they are driving the actual analog signal.

As to selecting two outputs from a flip-flop, if you are talking about the Q and Qbar outputs you will be complementing the signal (more or less if it's 2's complement, exactly so if it's DSD). So there will be a polarity reversal which should be audible if not corrected somehow downstream.
