RE: Nope...

I had an amp that was completely DC coupled. There were two large power supply capacitors per channel. After some years, one of them failed and one channel got a moderately loud hum. I ended up replacing all four with slightly larger value capacitors that I was able to get from You-Do-It electronics in Needham, Massachusetts. I was pleasantly surprised that the repaired amplifier sounded distinctly better than I recall the original sounding, but of course it could be the "new razor blade" phenomenon. Regardless, there is no doubt that the power supply capacitors were in the signal path.

The amp was a VSP Labs TransMOS Gold, and the manufacturer had been in the instrument business for most of its business lifetime. It was a great sounding amp driving a pair of Snell AIII's.
