No, the marketing pap is part of the product. It is part of the total customer experience. The marketing makes it clear what type of customers are being solicited. Pseudo-technical marketing that is obviously bogus is not going to work with technically oriented customers. You will often see pseudo-technical marketing in high end audio marketing, but you will seldom see this in pro-audio marketing, even at the high end of the pro-audio range.
I have no problem with people who aren't technical when it comes to audio engineering, digital signal processing, computer hardware, etc... if they are humanists or experts in other technical fields (such as medicine). However, if they spread pseudo-technical marketing pap without understanding its bogosity then they lose their credibility, especially if they have any commercial ties involved.
