RE: PCM to DSD conversion

If you are going to convert PCM to DSD, then the conversion process is probably more important than the actual DSD DAC itself. Conversion algorithms are very complex, not easily understood mathematically, and are capable of creating many layers of subtle or not so subtle sonic aberrations.

I agree with Mercman. HQPlayer does a superb job of these conversions. Wit my DAC, using it to convert PCM to DSD128 produces much better sound than when PCM is sent directly to the DAC and converted by the SABRE chip.
