PCM to PCM upsampling and related digital room correction is pretty efficient in HQPlayer. Converting PCM to DSD, and worse performing digital room correction on DSD material while retaining DSD sample rates is very processor intensive. If a system doesn't have sufficient processing headroom, then playback may be unreliable. Unfortunately, for me, my older processor doesn't have the needed graphics support architecture so there would be no performance gain possible.
