The current might do local damage. The energy in one of these cells is about equal to two dozen kitchen matches. So unless there are flammables nearby any damage is likely to be local if one is working with a single cell unless one gets some kind of bodily contact. I'm not sure if there's enough energy to vaporize a wedding ring, but that was definitely a consideration with first generation computers which had high powered "arc welders" for power supplies.
I've presently got a bunch of 1 KW computer power supplies that put out over 80 amps continuously on their 12 volt rail and these could create a lot more action than a single cell if things went south.
