It wouldn't surprise me if there are issues with newer versions of Windows. And note, if they can prevent you from making working copies of your disk then they can probably hide any spyware or NSA spyware in who knows what part of your computer? (In fairness to M$, all the big computer and software companies sell lots of equipment to government spook agencies, and you can bet that to get this business these companies will do just about anything, all classified, of course...)
Less conspiratorially, from reading the Acronis web site it looks like there are issues with booting systems with full disk encryption. There is a work around that requires the user to make changes to the EFCI BIOS settings when doing a recovery. (This would explain not having problems when making copies, but then it would not be wise to make copies of disks in the belief that these copies will work should they be needed without testing them while one still has the working original disk.)
