As far as I am concerned, there is no "state of the art" DAC until someone comes out with one that is immune to noise on the input signal. Until that point, all of the units on the market have serious deficiencies, hence the need for various add ons and band aids. For me, the efficacy of such devices is proof positive that the DAC they are connected to is not state of the art.
Thank you and others for doing the comparisons, and confirming that state of the art DACs are still, in 2015, unobtanium.
