Home Computer Audio Asylum

Music servers and other computer based digital audio technologies.

Challenge? Sure...

People keep talking about noise. Yes, of course there is and can be noise. Easy to find examples where a guy hears noise placing their DAC or preamp or whatever beside their computer / cell phone / hard drive / etc...

But as time goes on, these concerns broaden into low power devices with very low chance of causing significant interference - like these switches often placed feet away and people concerned over ethernet cables picking up this and that.

So if one could point out an example where we can isolate a source of noise from a switch creating problems with a (hopefully decent) DAC, then we can at least learn something about what to get or what not to get.

Otherwise we learn nothing of substance, just a bunch of unsubstantiated claims, and can't provide any clear advice when people ask for suggestions.
