I'm sure it's a fine switch.I am curious why a 16-port switch and whether you intend to put it in the sound room?
I use a D-Link DGS-1016A (16-port) but in the central patch panel of my home in the basement where all the other stuff like the cable input, PBX phone distribution, etc... goes. This is at least 30 feet away from any sound equipment.
In the soundroom sits an 8-port router for the local hardware including the HTPC. A 4/5-port probably would be just fine.
Is anyone really that afraid of whatever small amount of electrical noise from a simple passive ethernet switch!? Why?
