I will change my mind about high priced audiophile digital cables after I've seen a few technical papers by cable designers of these audiophile cables who provide a technical explanation of how their cables differ from the competition in design, materials and construction and how this improves the sound the listener hears. There will have to be sufficient technical details as appropriate to an IEEE or AES technical paper. They will have to make sense to me, and if there are portions that I can't understand they will have to have provided footnotes to other people's work so that I can fill in the missing pieces. Since I happen to know the engineers who designed several of the Ethernet PHY layers and worked myself on parts of the frame coding and protocols I am not likely to accept any BS when it comes to Ethernet cables.
I'd be happy if this referred to products that were 2 years old, so there is no need to give away any "secret sauce". I just want to see if these characters know anything or whether they are just scam artists.
