"Sordidman has ad nauseum explained to you in great detail why it there is very little equivalency between a hyper tweaked foxconn computer and a so called audio "appliance"."
I have seen no detailed description of these differences. This would require a complete tear down of the products being compared as to design, part quality, build quality, and including software reverse engineering.
"And it is NOT cheaper in the end."
If one counts the necessary tools and test equipment needed to do successful tweaking of computer audio systems, not to mention the value of one's time spent doing so, then it's likely there won't be any savings. But if one is already a DIYer one won't count one's time and one will justify the acquisition of tools and test equipment on the basis that they will "pay for themselves".
