"Sorry Tony, the software is the Real McCoy."
Where did I say that the software isn't the real McCoy? I won't be buying this product because I already have most of its features in the much more expensive editing software that I use for my audio restoration work (especially iZotope RX4 Advanced).
BTW, with some work I think I know how to take Redbook files and make them look like hi-res, but I'm not going to discuss how as I am a white hat hacker and not a black hat. I'm not saying that they will sound like hi-res or even sound different or better. Just look better. Frankly, I don't care whether music in hi-res formats is "actually" hi-res or not. I care about what the price is and what the sound quality is. (And of course the musical quality, but that's a given.) I also believe that most hi-res downloads have absurd premiums, in which case I await sale pricing.
