It is obvious to any sailor or aviator that the world is not flat as one can see the horizon recede with altitude. To the extent that people thought the world to be flat, they were denying the evidence of their own senses.
In the audio case, it is the objectivists who deny their own senses when they conflict with incomplete "measurements" used in conjunction with incomplete theory of human hearing. They are the flat earthers because they blindly follow their dogma even when it goes directly against their own perceptions.
Incidentally, the historical case of "flat earth" appears to be a fable used to discredit religion in the name of science.
