RE: After first 2 paragraphs, my thought was: will this clown mention Meyer-Moran "test"?

"As did all the cheap deaf clowns before him..."

Actually, my onetime college summer roomate, Brad Meyer was on the forefront of the flat earth "perfect sound forever" audio world. I doubt there was anyone else before him, other than paid employees of Philips and Sony.

It was in the mid 80's at his home that Brad "proved" to me that all CD players sounded alike and that the PCM-F1 digital converter was transparent on his system. A convincing demonstration. More to the point, however, was that another roommate from the same summer, Clark Johnsen. was no longer speaking to Brad over the issue of digital audio. And the resolution in my mind as to who was right was rather simple. Music was better at Clark's house than at Brad's. (In Brad Meyer's case it wasn't for lack of money that his system was inferior, considering his family background. He chose a Carver amp, etc., based on his "scientific" understanding.)
