RE: I would guess there is little correlation with price

In my experience so long as the traffic on the Ethernet cable segments isn't excessive and the cables are within length and quality specifications there will be no difference in networking performance (packet drops, packet delays) between consumer and enterprise gear. However, the enterprise gear may be more reliable (lower MTBF) which might be significant in a large business network where people are paid to keep it running and workers are idle and sales lost when the network is down. All good and well, but when was the last time your personal LAN failed, other than during a power failure?

(There are specific technical differences in the queuing algorithms. But these will irrelevant if the LAN is dedicated to audio during the listening periods.)

If you are worried about noise, then it may make sense to replace stock wall worts with better power supplies....
