RE: ETHERNET CABLES: I'm losing it

So you 'THINK' you hear a difference?

Why not just get a friend over to help swap some cables in a single blind fashion and see if you can clearly pick it out after 4 or 5 switches? If you do, let us know. If not then decide if you want to keep the cables based on esthetics, bragging rights and construction rather than sound quality.

Since we're generally talking short lengths like 50ft or so, there really should be no issue with data error, or 'noise' (whatever this means in error-free digital data communication). Also since there's buffering in the DAC (Ethernet is asynch by design), it doesn't make sense that jitter should intrude into the analogue output.

Since you're interested in facts, I do not believe there has *ever* been any demonstration that the DAC output is any different between a perfectly adequate errorless cable and any expensive alternative.
