RE: Foobar DSD ASUS T100 cpu load results

Thanks for the test Adriel. Great to see that these days, a typical "low speed" intel Atom processor like the T100 with the Z3740 processor is capable of quite a bit of realtime processing.

These days, I'm running a rather inexpensive intel G3220 Pentium rig with fanless power supply and oversized CPU cooler that's essentially silent in the media room. CPU costs <$60 almost a year ago and I suspect even cheaper today.

In comparison to the T100's CPU, I'd expect the G3220 to be 3-5x the speed in most processing tasks. Since there's speed to spare, I usually underclock a bit to get things even cooler and keep fan speed at a minimum. Fantastic how inexpensive processing is these days.

If you have the opportunity, it might be interesting to see how much CPU utilization JRiver 19+ takes transcoding to DSD64/128 with the T100 as a comparison. That's what I use these days when I want to listen to PCM as DSD using the UD-501.
