fmak appears to be pursuing the perfect computer, not me. He just seems to be having a hard time of it. Perhaps he's looking for his car keys under the lamp post.
When it comes to digital playback, quantity does translate into quality. There is a defined goal of producing the output that correctly reflects the input (the original signal as digitized). Quality comes from reducing the distance (quantity) from this goal. This situation is characteristic of a reproductive process such as audio playback. It does not apply in the case of creative processes such as musical performance and (in some cases) record production.
