RE: I now also have that WAV-bug on recent installs. But how about SOUND QUALITY?

Hi Mark,

About the WAV issue, I installed "alsa.tcz" instead of alsa-dev package, but still the same problem. WAV playback in Deadbeef depends on WAV/PCM plugin which depends on libsndfile (part of alsa). I doubt it has something to do with other extensions installed, like nfs or cifs utils, etc...
We should try if system plays back wav with another player, like the one suggested in the thread I openend at TCL, or perhaps we can try directly with aplay. That is what I will try next.

In terms of sound quality the jury is still out. I proposed TCL+Deadbeef to my Italian cMP2 community, but not many people had the chance to try it yet (extended holiday period in Italy). One person did try it though employing SRC at 192kHz on both TCL+DB and a heavily tweaked cMP2 (I stress heavily). He still preferred cMP2, but found TCL+DB the best Linux distro so far.
However, I feel that TCL+DB, especially at this initial level, can still be "tweaked" here and there. For example, how did you go about nrpacks, buffer size, time size?
