Realtime DSD upsampling/playback...

At version 19, you expect software feature set to be mature.

For the purpose of playback and audio media library purposes, I'd be happy with the feature set many versions ago... Nonetheless, it's good that the JRiver folks are looking for ways to add value.

I'm surprised by the limited comments/interest in the realtime DSD upsampling/conversion in these discussions.

I'm still overseas at the moment but once I get home, I am looking forward to try out upsampling to DSD128 to my TEAC. Isn't doing stuff like this one of the great things about being able to leverage the power of computer audio?

With all the hub-bub around Meitner's DSD upsampling in their DAC2X, I would have thought that even Tony Lauck would be interested in this feature for his Mytek!

For the record, my opinion on "bit perfect" I believe is clear from my blog. Likewise, my opinion on JPlay I believe is clear. Having said this, let me also be clear that I have no relationship with JRiver other than a paying customer and have had some exchange with one of their developers (Matt) around a bug I ran into around cover art (quickly fixed). I have not personally gained anything otherwise other than a nice conversation.
