RE: Bibou, can you give an outline of how you are using this

Initially, you need to download alsa and deadbeef in order to use the system. Therefore, yes, you need an internet connection. Although perhaps it is possible to download them separately and save them locally.

However, for the Italian cMP2 forum group I have prepared an iso image with alsa and deadbeef already included, which you can DL from the link at the bottom. On Windows just DL the supported utility installer Core2usb that allows you to make a bootable usb pendrive with that image. Format the USB stick and dump the image on it.

That version is set for Italian keyboard, so you need to make a little change. With Win Notepad open the file boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg on the USB pendrive. This file corresponds to what you see during boot up, before TCL. In the 2nd paragraph, in the APPEND line, remove "kmap=qwerty/it". Save and restart.

With USB pendrive inserted, set your system bios to boot from ext HD. At bootup, selecting the 2nd option, TCL will start with an EN keyboard. In Deadbeef, under Edit/Preferences/ select ALSA and your Output Device. For playback, put some music files on your OS disc, otherwise you need to mount an ext HD through Mount utility (for a NAS it is slightly more complicated).
To save settings, be sure to make a system backup (Control Panel/Backup/Restore) before you exit TCL. Enjoy!
