16/44 warning in SACD's...

I don't know about BIS since I don't have any of their recordings. At least back in the day when CD's came out we had the SPARS code to identify to some extent the source material.

Back in those days (late 80's) we also had that "warning" of sorts that "this Audio CD may reveal deficits in the source material" in many of the package inserts or on the back. That's honest, at least acknowledging that sound quality is/could be limited.

Has anyone ever seen this with SACD's?

There are a number of stereo-only SACD's of suspicious pedigree, including things marketed as "audiophile" quality.
