Hi Tony,
"Perhaps the transporter is able to suppress some or most of the jitter in from the effects loop by running on the local clock, in effect becoming a one box system."No that would not be true because I'm measuring the jitter from the Transporter DAC analogue output in both cases. The effects loop through the Behringer has clearly worse jitter measurements.
Here's a test, I can record a piece of music through the Transporter out - one direct with low jitter, the other degraded with the 2ns through the Behringer digital loop. Can folks tell the difference through their system?
Anyone up for another blind test!? :-)
[Realize guys that objectively, the amount of distortion induced by MP3 is MUCH WORSE than what I'm seeing here with jitter-induced sidebands at 2ns... Look how that test turned out!]
