Sure, 48kHz is a limitation if you feel 96kHz+ makes that much of a difference (I'm not so sure I believe that). Remember though that even the SB3 could benefit from 24-bit data and show a 6dB improvement in dynamic range when measured from its analog output. Try doing that with something like the Sonos!
+1 on the Touch. I know at least a couple of us bought refurbished models before Christmas. I'm glad I did seeing how hard they seem to come by now and the asking price... Ran some RightMark measurements through mine recently and it performs well as reported also by Stereophile. I'm impressed that even TosLink 24/192 could be achieved between the Touch and ASUS Essence One using the EDO firmware.
