RE: HDMI is a poor design for audio because of the clocking. nt

Can this not be overcome by the DAC with proper buffering and reclocking? So far, I have yet to see measurements of jitter compared to say SPDIF or TosLink despite all the negative comments in forums.

Like it or not, HDMI is the present and forseeable future for consumer electronics.

I believe Meridian has done quite a bit of work on this and the recently announced NAD M51 DAC looks interesting as well (although it's only stereo).
