Had been using one of these from the basement cable/router setup to the 1st floor main computer with the NetGear 200Mbps, 6 months ago updated to the 50Mbps TrendNet.
Never noticed any noise issues. All audio equipment plugged in to Belkin PureAV PF60 power filter within 5 feet of the unit.
It has certainly made the network access to the main floor computer much more reliable than the wireless-N. No more interruptions with the microwave. Even electrically noise appliances like a blender or laundry doesn't seem to affect it much.
