Actually, the "bold" statements come from believers. Logically, changing the noise floor in what is bit-perfect data transfer without causing obvious errors makes no common sense. Yet that is exactly what many "believers" ascribe to. When this happens, it turns into a religion.

I have tried a total of 5 different USB cables over the years. I had a Benchmark DAC, tried maybe 3 cables on an Ayre QB-9. Best I tried was a Wireworld Platinum Starlight versus crappy disposable USB's. Never heard a difference...

Sure, maybe I didn't throw enough money at the "problem" - LOL. As I said before, I have since happily lived with a $20 6' USB.
