Since figures lie and liars figure, there is no way to compare who is more productive. I've seen many CEO's take massive bonus' as their company stock plummets, is that a reward for their productivity?
I've never made more than $85K a year, but I've worked for over 30 years with folks who have made more than me and folks who have made less than me. I can tell you without reservation that in America, the more money you make the less work you do (and the less money you need due to gifts).
You may debate the fact that working harder is not the same as being more productive, but in my opinion, that's just a way to spin it so that those with money can feel as if they've earned it. It comforts them to believe that they've accumulated wealth by working harder. They don't like the idea that they got wealthy by abusing a corrupt system.
