It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

A great point on Vocal vs. Instrumental Music

I couldn't resist sharing this observation made by Jason Kennedy in the latest Issue 17 of Hi-Fi+:

"... A great musical composition and performance can take us to places that only dreaming can approach. In a way, listening to music is a form of dreaming, it's an escape from normal rational way of processing information into a state of semi-meditation where aural cues dictate the activities of the mind. A lot of music has the ability to transport the listener to another world, creating a form of altered state, and the more intensely you listen the greater the chance of reaching such ethereal planes. I also feel that the less specific or literal music is, the greater scope it gives your imagination. Purely instrumental music has the greater potential for abstraction in this respect and offers the listener greater freedom of thought than compositions where lyrics create a specific guide."

I liked that. It's great when someone expresses what you've been feeling for so long.

Cheers
