It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

RE: Comparison of two speeds

What bothered me was how funny the orchestra sounded when I first played the download. Something was wrong. I heard that there was a problem during the first musical phrase. I interpreted this as a sonic problem with the recording, not with the musical performance. Note that speeding up or slowing down a recording will not have the same effect as having the musicians retune their instruments and make a corresponding adjustment of tempo. At least some instruments will change their character when they are returned or forced to play out of their natural tune.

When I first listened to the FLAC download I thought it was a bit sharp, but I noted the harshness more. That was a mistake on my part, since once I reduced the pitch the harshness largely disappeared.
