Thanks for the responses. Regarding the difference in sound quality
on a cheap car radio, I think the FM station is doing something pretty special with signal enhancement for it to sound that good. I meant to say this on the first post but forgot. Here are a few recordings I have that are very well recorded: Anything by Fabio Biondi, Scheherazade: Beecha EMI, Mendelsohn Tchaikovsky VC: Kyung Wha Chung, anything Joshua Bell, there are many more and maybe in retrospect a greater percentage than I indicated in the first post. It still amazes me about the car radio versus high end stereo comparison and why that is so.
