I initially found her less than stellar. At first I thought her whole schtick was SEXY. It took a bit longer before I appreciated how talented she is and she does do sexy (as a vocal affectation) better than
anyone else I have heard. I agree about live in Paris being a great CD but think Love Scenes is the best of the 6 I own. I have played this one way too much. I have been using it to gage midrange and bass performance
of different cables, components, tubes. She certainly is no Sarah Vaughan but who is? I do listen to Diana more than Sarah for two reasons, much of Sarah's repertiore sounds dated (arrangements that are from the fifties and sound it), the sound engineering on Diana's CD are reference quality (I don't have anything better sonically in a large collection) Sarah had more range than any singer (male or female)
I've heard (five octaves!). Diana is unique though and I thoroughly enjoy her.
