I don't want to jump in on a negative vibe but tell who the hell does Eva Cassidy sound like? She is as unique a singer as I have heard and incredibly gifted. Go ahead, name the singer she is imitating and then listen to them side by side. No one sounds remotely like her nor communicates the emotion of the lyric more effectively. Most of her repertoire (almost all) are standards and I would be hard pressed to find a version of the tune that I like as well as hers. She truly makes them her own, definitely elevating the music. Someone mentioned Joe Cocker as imitative HUH????. Another example of a truly unique voice that elevates many of the tunes he sings.
