MG 1.6 with true ribbon

I was wondering why Magnepan doesn't come out with the 1.6 using true ribbon, also all the other lower models. It really isn't all that expensive, to replace the 3.6 ribbon is a little over $100 each. It would sound really sweet, so much so that it would probably butt up against the 3.6's. I guess that's where the problem would lie. The current difference in price between the 1.6 vs 3.6 is more than double. There's a huge profit margin for the 3.6's, to come up with a model like the 1.6 with true ribbon would really cut into the 3.6's sale unless there were more of a differentiation. My belief is that Magnepan could come up with a model 1.6 with true ribbon (similiar to the 2 series, but lower price) if they wanted to, but from a profitability and business stand point it doesn't make sense. If there were enough people making some noise and demand, maybe we can prod them to action.
