Quite the same years of mine... I bought them used from a crazy guy that lets them connected all the day long to a transistor radio when he didn't listen... "to maintain a dynamic mylar" :)
And I can't hear a normal dynamic speaker, now ;)
About ten/eleven years ago one of them loose the tweeter, and in Italy no one known about the rapairing kits...so I put them in a cryogenic freezer :):):)
Now after years I convinced myself to open the capsule (containing the rest of the hifi, of course), maintaining the speakers (I hope), power amplifier, and using pc with a external usb dac.
The person who rebuild them (btw,I can do the rebuild by myself, absolutely, but I was so cared about the possibility of tearing the mylar in cleaning the glue...) offered me two (possibly) rebuilt Quad ESL 63, but I'm not convinced...
just seen the photo(s) on flicker... very beautiful. I've a d800 ;)
ps could you please tell me where to find infos about Dawnrazor's mod?
