Heard from Wendell

He emailed to say that I'd misconstrued his intent. He wants to reduce the mass and improve the transient performance of *both* the MMG's woofer and tweeter. An interesting project indeed! He added that the previous experiment to which you had referred wouldn't work because it didn't change the bass/midrange. So I don't think we can use that as a guide to what we can expect from modifying the MMG.

I'm thinking I was also wrong in my assumptions about efficiency. I had in mind the formula efficiency = (contant) * Bl^2 * S^2 / M^2 * R. In a parallel configuration overall DCR remains constant, so I figured that only the reduction in mass would affect the efficiency. In fact, I'm thinking that I misapplied the formula, which doesn't directly apply to a series/parallel configuration. Forex, in a parallel configuration, current density will be reduced, so force, which is Il X B and so proportional to current, will be reduced commensurately.
