and Wendell said "And, no, we can't help with materials, etc. when delivery of 3.7s is sometime in September and we are 6 weeks behind on 1.7s. "
I must have made my purchase at the right time . . . it was 2 years ago.
With that said , I purchased some foil on a roll that is .001 thick ,6 inches wide , and 250 feet on the roll . I just measured the aluminum foil that I received from Magnepan , it measures .001, and it's 1/8 of a inch wide ( .125 ) or (3.175mm), length unknown .
I have already rewired the tweeter portions of a pair of MGIs.It appears that per Wendell , I'm not that far from having a " Hot Rod " lol .The work that it will take to strip the mid and bass wires will be minimal , though , one has to be careful .
I think I have solved the problem of cutting the foil I bought , and I will use Magnepans product ( miloxane ) to adhere the foil to the mylar . In my opinion , I like the way miloxane adheres the foil to the mylar , although , I did spray a very light coat of adhesive to the mylar surface first.
One area that REALLY has me concerned is the cross over , I'm no genius when it comes to cross overs . The process continues forward , with the sight of a " Hot Rod " sitting in my living room , disguised as a Volkswagen . lol
Of course these " Hot Rods " would have wood frames , struts and possibly the dynamat tweek.
