i.e. Swarm v2 or v3?

AudioKinesis's Swarm bass system was often mentioned recently as one of the top choices among multiple subs.
They offer, or I may say Duke LeJeune offers, a choice of vented or sealed subs, specifically v2 and v3.
He built v3 because customers requested such type of subwoofer. However, Swarm v2 vented version is musically superior, as Duke himself admits.

"Comparing the 10" sealed Swarm with the original 6.5" vented Swarm (v1), the original went deeper without equalization and its frequency response curve was a better complement to typical boundary-reinforcement-induced gain in the bass region. The sealed version has better impact on kickdrum an such, and bass boost feature of the amp along with the parametric EQ (neither of which were available on the original) gives more real-world flexibility in tailoring the sub to its environment. I still make the 8" vented Swarm 2.0, which plays deeper and louder than the sealed Swarm and has a smaller footprint, but it's also eight hundred bucks more."

That is to say that it is difficult to generalize and in my view it always comes down to design.
