RE: Thanks - they sound fascinating :-)) ...

I read in one of the Audiophile mags about how unimpressive the Analysis Audio Amphitryons sounded at the New York show being driven by Henry Ho's ICe20 amps. I believed that it's pretty much common knowledge now that the ICe20's were a horriffic match for the Amphitryons, and, probably would be a bad match mated with most any other ribbon speaker out there. Some speaker/amp combination sonics just do not synergize very well. This was a case-in-point situation of very poor system matching, especially at an Audio Show. When I first heard the Analysis Omegas, and then the Amphitryons, then learned of their cost, my first notion was to, seek out, and audition a pair of the much more affordable Apogee Divas. And that's exactly what I did. I had to fly from California to Reno Nevada though, in order the hear a mint pair of Divas in an ideal environment. Needless to say, I was most impressed. However, without going into extensive detial, I thought the Amphitryons were superior sonicly. The Amphitryons were also a hell of a lot more efficient. And, yes, thay are built differently from the Apogees. To make a long enough story short. I had an opportunity to purchase a pair of rebuilt, refurbished, absolutely mint, Apogee Divas for a lot less cash-o-la than what the Amphitryons cost. I would definitely go for Analysis Omegas before the Apogee Divas. The Analysis speaker line represent the new-and-improved, new technology versions of the older technology of the Apogee line. Man.....the sonics of the Amphitryons was so very compelling. I was furtunate enough to be able to come up with the funds. But, all of us aren't as fortunate as I am. Honestly though, If cost was an issue, I could have been very happy with the Divas. Go listen to the Analysis speakers with proper amplification, cabling, and proper everything else, as it should be. You're going to be as impressed as I was. "TRUST ME."
