...I did spend a week with a few buddies on the Kenai River in Alaska in early September.
A fellow tackle collector has a lodge right on the river and once all of his clients have left we come in and have the place to ourselves.
We fish from dawn to around mid-afternoon, then head back to camp to clean up, talk old tackle, eat, drink and general merriness.
Its a great time.
In the picture below I am on the right. The fish are "silvers", mostly 15 to 18 pounds. I took a 50 pound box of fillets to my sister and her husband. They love salmon and now have a nice supply.
Normally I just fish the local ponds and streams of my hometown in CT with small spinning and fly outfits. I haven't fished salt water since I was a kid when my Uncle would take me out to chase blues and strippers.
