50 years from now our children will be studying about the 2nd Great Depression. No one wants to bring up the "D" word now, they are afraid of a total collapse. It won't take much to bring down this house of cards in which we currently reside.
I lost my good job of over 30 years almost 3 years ago now, and still can't find work. It seems that I am 'overqualified' for every job opening out there. I don't count as unemployed, even though I can't even get a part time, minimum wage job. I went from $85K/year to $0/year. I'm "only" 53, but I feel like a leper when it comes to finding work. I've even been turned down for a part time, minimum wage job stocking shelves! It's horrible out there. I'll have to start dealing drugs or turn to prostitution next.
My real concern is for my children. I have three sons in their 20's, none of them will be able to say they had a good job for 30 years. They can't afford homes, or children. The future is bleak for the have nots, whose numbers are growing daily.
