I'm from ATL and have gone to several games even though I'm an Islander fan. I have to say I didn't enjoy the experience very much, they tried to create a carnival atmosphere and oh yeah there's also a hockey game tonight folks.

The Atlanta Spirit ownership group bought the Thrasher franchise along with the NBA Hawks as a package. They admitted they were big NBA fans and didn't really care about hockey, well I guess the sale of the club reflects their lack of interest in the NHL.
