Road to Andre Jute

Here's a photo of the street where Andre Jute lives.

I don't know which house it is, because in this particular town in Ireland, none of the houses have house numbers. (The Irish don't have zip/postal codes, either) But it's a quaint little town, with a huge Catholic church on one hill and an equally huge Anglican church on an opposite hill. And a Baptist and a Methodist church in between.

A few tidbits about Ireland:

1. Don't expect to go anywhere, by any means, very fast. The bus and rail service is frequent, and cheap if you know which tickets to buy. But Ireland ain't Germany, don't expect bullet trains and autobahns.

2. Don't expect to find cities littered with cheap fast-food joints or British style chippys and kebab shops. Or cheap anything. Most of the Irish spend weekends shopping in Northern Ireland, it seems.

3. Expect plenty of places to imbibe stout and whisky. The travel guides are wrong, there are plenty of places to drink Guinness in Cork, and plenty of places to get tanked on Beamish in Dublin. Beamish is the most bitter of the Big 3 Irish stouts, Murphy's sweetest. Some Irish only drink Guinness out of bottles, even when it's available on tap.

4. Don't ask for Bushmills or a black and tan, and if anyone asks you about Scottish football, feign ignorance. "Celtic versus Rangers? Huh? One's a basketball team, and the other is hockey!"
