I would suggest that you do not fixate on one single example or on one single name. Just look around you and you will be able to compile your own examples and names from your own list.

Read people's experiences of their sound improving when they have changed such as AC power cables. Read how they described their sound improving - such as greater height, greater width, better separation of instruments - and, in some cases, that the new sound is now "out of the box" !! OR, alteratively, read of other people's experiences and descriptions of how the sound had improved when they have put such as AC power cords through the freezing process, or applied 'treatments' to the outer insulation of those power cords and you will find similar descriptions of 'no longer is the sound confined to the loudspeaker box'.

THEN, make your OWN list of speaker manufacturers and find out for yourself how many of the speaker designers and engineers would be prepared to do experiments that MIGHT show that the 'boxy' sound is not necessarily associated with the box of the speaker !!!

I only name names when those people have themselves published their experiences. Such as Ed Meitner and Keith Howard on the cryogenic freezing process. Or, manufacturers and journalists in the UK on the directionality of cables. Or, such as John Atkinson and Martin Colloms on 'greening the edge of CDs'. I do not name names when it has been my own observations of people's attidudes or if people's experiences have only be told to me or to others but not published.

Regards,
May Belt.
